    Default Stop-Start

    Hey all,

Having had my Insignia nearly a week, I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with the Stop-Start?

I cant seem to get mine working as i think it should. All parameters are set to what believe to be correct, but most of the time it just does not work.

Been chatting about it "elsewhere" and i have followed all advice given there.

Just on the off chance, was wondering if anyone had any experience with it and if they have had any problems?

I am pretty much at the stage where i am going to take it to a VX dealer and see what they have to say - but thought best to ask here first.

    Rgds

Not been in an insignia but its usually once engines upto working temp.

    in neutral
foot on brake or parking brake applied.

should then start again as soon as clutched dipped.

its pretty similar procedure for most makes

ecu has to see adequate charge in battery also

iirc there are more conditions than you would expect for it to work - outside temperature, battery level, aircon on/off (I think it has to be off for it to work! ), and more that I can't remember - daft question, but you have got the button marked ECO lit haven't you?

Don't have it on mine - I can't see how it can be good for the engine in any way...

better for your wallet though - road tax drops to £30 a year for a 2.0CDTi 160PS with start stop (plus the engines are obviously designed to work with the system )

Depends - the ecoflex engine costs almost a grand more to buy in the first place...
