Default It's the little things that drive you mad

Doesn't sound like much but ever since i've owned my vectra i've been driven mad by a rattling parcel shelf, tried turning the rubber buffers over in the tailgate still rattled, tried removing them rattled, tried wrapping tape around the pins it swivels on rattled.
Today success removed the two plastic clips from the rear of the shelf turned them round so the pointy bit is under the shelf and the flat bit is on the outside,no rattle, like i said doesn't sound like much but it's made my vectra driving experience so much more enjoyable.

    I know the feeling

I have a similar thing with my Signum. The rear seat centre armrest rattles if it's round one way, but it's fine if it's reversed. I can't see why, and really it's no big deal but it's little things like this that really drive you mad!

I suppose we could have worse things to worry about...

I would just have sold it. LOL. I know what you mean, I hate noises when I am driving.

Mine also drives me up the wall, ive tried rubber stoppers either side, velcro strips but still rattles so i think ill try this! Are they the 2 plastic pyramid shaped things that face you as you open the boot? That are supposed to link with the rubbers?

Yeh that's the ones ,they have a textured surface and when I looked at mine it had been worn smooth in one spot so assumed that was the bit comin into contact with whatever and causing the rattle

My old 04 SRI parcel shelf rattled but the current two dont. Have to say tho the XP2 interior dash rattles more than the other car - around where the phone jack is sited. I think a couple of squash balls may solve the problem if rammed in the cubby hole

My little thing that niggles me, is the damn boot is always locked. If all the doors are unlocked why cant the boot be too.

It really infuriates me having to open my door to press the button or use my key fob every single time i want to get in the boot.

If your in and out your boot filling it or emptying it and its raining hard, you want to shut your boot for a few minutes then every time its open front door press button open boot.

Sooooooooo annoying. Does it bother anybody else, or just me?

Not on the facelift,.. this was changed to one click opens drivers door, second click opens all doors and the boot. The remote boot lock removed from the cabin also

Could it be retrofitted in anyway to the pre facelift? or is it put up with it?
