Had exactly the same problem this evening, roads have been dry for a while so there is a layer of rubber on them. I tried starting off in second but they were still trying to spin changing into 3rd without booting it! Traction control light flickering like a xmas tree. I'm on NCT 5's 215/50/17 with excellent tread.
You'll certainly open up the choice of tyres greatly, not to mention save a few bob as well. e.g. the NCT 5's are about £15 cheaper each tyre in 225/45/17 than in 215/50/17.Originally Posted by Graeme
