    Default think it may be time for some new tyres....

    mine are still legal but in th wet today i was spinning all over the place from a standing start even in 2nd.

    reckon i'll change the profiles while i'm at it.

    Had exactly the same problem this evening, roads have been dry for a while so there is a layer of rubber on them. I tried starting off in second but they were still trying to spin changing into 3rd without booting it! Traction control light flickering like a xmas tree. I'm on NCT 5's 215/50/17 with excellent tread.

    You'll certainly open up the choice of tyres greatly, not to mention save a few bob as well. e.g. the NCT 5's are about £15 cheaper each tyre in 225/45/17 than in 215/50/17.

    I recently switched all four of mine over to 225/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 and very nice they are too!

    Thanks for that Duncan, I might have to change mine before winter if this recent weather is anything to go by.
