Exclamation Cable has come off on drivers door latch not handle

Hi all, I'm new here been lurking a while.

Started a 20min job yesterday fitting aftermarket speakers. Unfortuntely the wire that goes inside the door lock seems to have unlatched from somewhere and I can't get inside the door well enough to see what's going on, nor can I remove the lock all together to get a proper look.

The only problem I'm left with is that if I'm in an accident, I'll have to put my arm out the windows and open the door from the outside.

Really need some help with this as soon as possible, or if anyone is in or near Oxford I would pay them a few sterling for a hand.

Ill get some pictures up of what I mean, but I'm sure it was pretty clear.

Question Ok, here's some pictures, they are hi-res so dont do it on a mobile phone

I'm really stumped I just can't find the other end of the cable to clip it back in to whatever it's unclipped from!

So this is the cable, the obvious bit.

This is a view from underneath, which tells me nothing!

This is what I've undone to try get the lock out

If someone can help me I'll knock up a "how to" while I'm fixing it.

Ok it turns out I was too heavy handed when taking the door card off. Despite me thinking I was actually quite gentle!

Here's the cable I need to replace.

    This is the broken end.

I will repair it and provide instructions.
