Default Random question about cleaning good fish tank

evening all. Ok abit random this, my little girl has a little gold fish tank, I'm sorry fish lovers but I hate em haha. Anyways I'll get to the point, they are in desperate need to be cleaned out so off I popped with the tank into the kitchen and tipped most the water away to just discover we dot have any tap safe (or whatever it's called) will these fish die if I re fill with tap water only. Like I say I know nothing about fish. thanks ya'll

To be fair goldfish are one of the hardiest but dirty fish you can get.

I am sure they will be fine topped up with tap water. It wont be ideal but I am sure they will survive.

When my wife & daughter came home with 5 goldfish in a bag I put them straight into a tank with tap water and they survived ok, subsequently I swap around 1/3 of the water every 2 weeks and I treat it for 24hrs before putting the new water in. Goldfish are quite hardy, good luck.

I have never treated the water - goldfish live in canals and all sorts so they will be fine mate, Its just a product they say you need to use.
