Default Why cheap parts arn't a good buy

I decided to change my EGR valve today as my old one is playing up so i took advantage of euro car parts 25% off and got a nice new one.............BIG MISTAKE!

I fitted it and started the car and all hell broke loose. The engine was hissing, misfiring, popping and the turbo was spooling up for a second then loosing all pressure.

I took the new one off and put old one back on and its running fine.Just out of interest i inspeceted the new part and i tookls like my 3 year old daughter could of made a better one.

You can see how 1 of the bolt hole has a resess machined into it for some reason, another bolt hole has half a resess which didn get finished. The worse bit is that the other side which has the 2 bolt holes isnt flat so doesnt sit flush when fitted and theres a 2mm gap inbetween the gasket and the valve. On opening the 2 halfs theres a big gouge out of the solinoid section and that is all wonkey aswell

The quality is just pants and ive definatly learned my lesson that cheaper isnt always better

Have you done the complete clean which intails drilling out the solanoid and cleaning/greasing it?
