    Default detailed my mates rx8

well my mate has had his rx8 nearly a year now and its only ever had a morrisons car wash lol

the car was a state with the paintwork pretty badly marked

the wheels were done bilberry juice and my trusty wheel brush

the car was then washed to get rid of most of the crap then given a slay with meguiers clay, the clay bar was black showing how long its been since a good clean

i gave it a couple passes with my rotary and some menzerna power finish which gives it a very slight cut to try and get rid of the swirls which were pretty bad

another couple passes and it would have removed them completely but time was kicking on and he needed the car so it was left after that, some swirls still present but most were gone and the paintwork was a hell of a lot better

it was then waxed using a trial wax i received from cleanyourcar a while back, not sure which kind it is but its a hard wax not a liquid and smells great

the plastics were all dressed with autoglym gel

pics don't so it any justice as i have pretty shakey hands and it started to get dark

Yeah it is, it's not a very good pic

i was trying to get the swirl marks in the picture and the swirls that are left are a hell of a lot better than what I had to start with

another couple passes with that compound would have removed them or I coul have used another menzerna product I have with a higher cut which would have removed it completely but didn't have the time

I don't have a paint thickness gauge either so have to be carefull

Is it still the Wankel rotary engine in them - I know when they were first bought out they had a lot of problems with the rotor vane seals failing - but I would have thought that would have all been sorted by now - don't know a lot about the car to be honest but I have always liked the look of it
