    Default HIDs -facelift? confused

little confused between the pre and post facelifts and how canbus interacts.

If i want to put HID's in my 06 facelift veccy, do i just stick H7 bulbs in? or do i need the full kit; ballast, cancellers etc?

    cheers

You will need the full kit mate. I think there might be some exceptions if the Bi-Xeon is activated in the menus using Tech2, but i have got the full kit installed on my 06 Facelift.

u need ballasts and bulbs, most nowa days come with cancellors bulit in,these are the ones i have, recommened by a good few people on here.
you will want 4.3k or 5k which is colour, 4.3k is white white with just a hint of blue, 5k is white with a little blue thru it, if u got 6k which i wouldnt looks tacy and may get u a pull buy the screws is quite blue and 7k is purple.

Had my 6K HIDs in for just over 3 years now. Never got stopped by the filth for them, and whenever I've been pulled over for other reasons they've never commented on them, nor has an MOT tester.

Mine are mainly white, with a very light hint of blue. Certainly not tacky, but 8K onwards would be IMHO.

What bulbs you got in your mains,I got 6k hid's and i know I'll never get a perfect match but I can't seem to get anywhere near bt the moment everything I put in looks very yellow even though they're described as white when you buy them

The only way you will get a perfect match is to fit HID's in the mains, had this in my coupe but for the vec I'm using night-breakers which although yellow compared to the HID's they do a good job.

to be honest i had 6k's for 6 years and never had any problems but since getting the 4.3k's i think the 6k's are a bit too blue, but its up to you.

ah bit to far away from me coulda helped you with em.

If you do do it, ure going to need to drill a 20-25mm hole offset/to oneside on the cover, because of the wires that stick out the back of the bulb. make sure its a goot fit and and a good seal so the headlight doesnt steam up. and to save you cutting wires pull the spades thru the rubber gromet. then put the bulb plus thru the holw and then put the spades back thru the gromet, if ure confused it should make sence when you get them if ure still having trouble ask on here or PM me al send you some pics of mine.
