Default HPI Check - Network Q

    Hey all,

    Just a quick question..

I am about to buy a car on the Network Q Network. The website blurb goes on about all the checks it goes through etc..

Would it be considered overkill to run a personal HPI check on the vehicle prior to purchase, or am i protected against all that sort of thing buying via Network Q?

I'm pretty sure it will all be above board, but better to get a few opinions and be sure!

    Cheers
    Aidi

The Network Q HPI check should be available when you view the car, I've always seen the one that comes with my car obtained through Network Q
Note it is the dealerships copy, so all you can do is view it

If however the car does have unknown history then you can claim, but you need to go through Network Q

Saying that, there is little risk in the types of car I select from dealerships
They have not yet reached their first service interval, or it is just due
They have only had 1 previous owner / registered keeper

I would perform more due diligence if the car was of high value and older, say with at least two services
However, for legal reasons I would only use the HPI service which is detailed online or by postal method
From memory this costs about £25, but is comprehensive (unlike the basic one which simply advises yes / no answers)

Some years ago my wife was getting a Tigra from Network Q as a part ex. Looked nice, few thousand on the clock and seemed ideal. Then she commented on the tailgate gap or somesuch. When I looked closer, under the mats etc it had obvioulsy had a ( bad ) rear end shunt and rebuild - to a standard that I could probably have done better myself.

    Beware
