Nail in tyre woes!

Annoyed now as noticed rear driver side tyre seems half flat this afternoon on way home. Upon closer inspection, plaster board flathead nail is in! Between thread in first one!

Am certain nails dont stay tail up on road as it'll be pushed forward as you drive over it unless someone stupidly put it against the tyre! Its perfectly in centre of the thread!!! Can i have repair on that area?? £60 each and dont wat to pay for one new tyre! Only got 7mm of thread

Yes m8. You can get that kind of puncture repaired easily. It's the ones in the tyrewall itself that you should stay clear of, and, I guess, similarly punctures right on the edge you should similarly avoid m8.

I had that not long ago, it must be something to do with the law that says if you drop your keys in the dark, they will go straight down a drain and not end up on their side lying down LOL

Tyre spot repair, how much do u reckon? Or standard cost?

I don't know what you mean about a spot repar m8, but for me, anything that has gone right through and I wouldn't be happy unless they pulled one of those rubber fillers through from the inside to out so I would say a standard repair and be safe

Tyre spot is the garage that does tyres, batteries, exhaust, whom fitted my tyres. They filled it with nitreon gas as its thicker than air and holds better in tyre and eco to fuel apparently but was part of the tyres fitted service.

Tyre spot is where I would take it m8 for I assume what would be a professional repair. I've heard about the nitrogen gas options, they do that at Makro near here and it's free if you're having the tyres dealt with. I would probably use a pocket repair kit like azacbr6 mentions to get me out of a hole (no pun intended) but would then take it straight in for a pro repair asap afterwards.
I don't like to think of tyres as anything other than safety devices and therefore not things to deal with other than 100% properly but I'm going to order up one of those kits azacbr6 because there's nothing like "being prepared"

i use something similar to this but they are like strips of rubber had 3 in 1 tyre before and never had a problem. new couriers that used them all the time.

Yeah, I've been reading up on these since the earlier post. It suggests that they are to be viewed as an emergency fix, and not as a permanent repair and should be examined by a specialist at the earliest opportunity. So as said previously given the choice, I would go for a professional repair personally.

The other thing I've noticed is they are mainly advertised as being for motorbikes (mainly) ,where I can see a clear use with no spare wheel. Even the compressed air versions of the kit (which enclose 3 mini air canisters) and suggest that these 3 should be "adequate for a motorcycle wheel"

Anyway, everyone to their own and if it gets you out of a temporary "hole" then seems ok

Lucky you. Just had someone point out my O/S rear was going down - and I could hear it. Big cut on the tread right at the inner edge & right through. Damn things only been on the car about 3 months ......
