    Default v6 Tuning.

Hi guys, im new on here. I have just bought myself a Vecta 3.2 v6. This is my first v6 car. I have in the past oned 2 other vectra's, a 1.8sxi B and a 2.2 elite C. Im looking into getting my new car re-mapped and was just wondering what mods to do before i get this done.
Iv read in forums that a pannel filter and upgraded exhaust are a good start. If i got the re-map first, then put the exhaust and filter on, would i need to get the map adjusted again to suit the mods?
The reason i am asking this, is that i live on a small scottish island and although i can get that parts sent to me, the re-map would have to be done on the mainland.

    Hi!

I've had mine for a few years now, haven't really done many mods but one I did that was well worth it is a K&N Apollo, just for the sound! (Someone will be along soon to argue that due to heat soak )

I've also looked at a re map and started a thread myself. http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...GSI&highlight=

Bit of an 'each to their own' subject but I will get mine done someday. Probably will look at a sports cat at the same time.

as long as you make a few mods it's worthwhile...mine ran 181bhp@wheels pre map..using random calc from http://www.maxauto.co.za/CntView.asp...D=37&CntID=271 this is 212 which is around std(not bad for a 90k on clock)..with exhaust/decat/filter/remap was 204@wheels(238bhp at fly according to afore mentioned site)...and then changed exhaust cams and remap did 214@wheels(249bhp at fly as per site)..not going to argue over calcs as loads of sites say different things but..remapping the 3.2...std..save your cash.. with mods..deffo

I changed the exhaust cams to g's (same as inlets)... I believe these let it breath better at higher revs... max bhp is at around 6.9K now rather than my std peak being at 6.1K.

I would be interested in doing this mod. Im going to do the timing belt and water pump soon so might aswel do this at the same time! My friend has some old cams from his 3.0 omega, do you know the part number for the cams on the vec 3.2? Just to check they are the same?
Or do you know what engines run these cams as there are a few on eBay that might do the job?

    Thanks

the part number is the same on all the cams(as it's then profiled to spec) but are then marked up j/a/g or whatever.. i got mine off fleabay out of a 2.5 but depending on model/year of 2.5/2.6/3.0 these come in different flavoured cam specs. just search 'g cams' and a good few come up eg
