It won't be an identical engine, there will be differences. The DMF must be different for a start or it would be needing replaced every week.

I looked at tuning boxses, water-meth injection even hydrogen fuel cells when I wanted to give my 2.2DTI mor ommph. I managed to get her up to 140bhp with decat n extra cold air feeds, straight through stainless exhausts etc.I concluded as much fun as it was trying to mod & up my bhp myself I was never going to be happy with what the old girl could give me.

So I bit he bullet and went for an engine built to put out & handle the sort of bhp I was after. I know its a hasstle changing cars But I can honestly say you wont regret it. you will still find something to mod on it LOL

That's the old ancillaries though, the block itself is bullet proof and with updated parts there shouldn't be any issues. If in doubt just have a read of Harvey Smith's which is putting out 280+bhp.

220 is well within the engines capabilities. It's the Vectra/Signum chassis which in my opinion is the problem in putting the power on to the road. With 220bhp I would expect 450Nm of torque, and the chassis struggles with 350Nm+.

Which as I have stated have been updated - inlet manifold and with a blanked EGR valve not an issue. Then you have the turbo and intercooler but they would be changed anyway so there really isn't any issue. Ask the owners who are getting 210bhp+ from their CDTI's.

210..... John was after 220 with reliability. Im not saying it can't be done, but at what cost! maybe John should take a look at Harvey Smith's thread to see if its going to be worth it.

it is going fantastic. Smooth power all the way up. little or no smoke when booted.
no issues with duel mass flywheel or clutch, gear box etc.
changing oil every 8-10k with a fully sinthetic oil to be safe.
keeping revs low until temperature guage moves (i have working thermo haha)
