    Default 220 BHP Cdti

What would I need to get my cdti up to approx 220 brake?

Some of my criteria is that the car must still be drivable in town (so no mass lag)

I want to keep my irmscher single exit back box however I would change to irmy quads if it would help matters.

I still need the car to be reliable and to be capable of towing a caravan.

Maybe my demands mean that I can't attain the power I want so what power could I realistically get to while sticking to the above criteria?

The car is a 2006 cdti 150 with a MAS performance map putting out 191bhp and has covered 79k

As above mate not that far from do able

    hybrid turbo.
    front mount.
    New map.

may also consider water meth injection to keep intake temps right down ( may also get slightly more power depending what % you run)

although depending on how much you use your car may mean to leave it at less power.
you may need a torque limit on map so you don't destroy the box

my mate just got rid of his seriously tuned up Mini Cooper s because of how if kept breaking bits (was running over 300bhp lol)

John some may not like this but I think putting out 220bhp out of a 1.9 is too much, Its going to stress the life out of your engine and the ancillary parts. To get 147bhp out of this engine was one mean achievement by VX. (with some issues that are all to common on this site). I think that this is about the safe limit to go on this lump. (Just my view)
I looked at tuning boxses, water-meth injection even hydrogen fuel cells when I wanted to give my 2.2DTI mor ommph. I managed to get her up to 140bhp with decat n extra cold air feeds, straight through stainless exhausts etc.I concluded as much fun as it was trying to mod & up my bhp myself I was never going to be happy with what the old girl could give me.

So I bit he bullet and went for an engine built to put out & handle the sort of bhp I was after. I know its a hasstle changing cars But I can honestly say you wont regret it. you will still find something to mod on it LOL

It's possible, Just think, Saab got around 170bhp standard out of the same 1.9 lump with a twin turbo setup. Imagine that remapped too!

I agree with the torque limit comments though, look after your box!

Lots and lots of the astra boys running this kind of power without many issues john, but as we all know the torque is the killer for the box. Karl will point you in the right direction..

I disagree.... They stuck an extra turbo on the saab to get 170bhp thats only..... 50bhp less than what John is after. I'm not saying its not do-able I'm just saying that your going to extreams and the spending will mount ££££££. Then what issues will the be thrown up with broken parts that cant handle the power, who knows?
