New alternator 1.9cdti 150 signum 56 plate

Had the power steering warning light and abs and spanner light come on and blowers cutting out then steering very heavy.I called the aa and they confirmed what I thought the alternator is knackerd,aa charged my battery to get me home only a 5 min drive and it should get me to my local garage in the morning.I was curious to know if anyone know's the rough cost af a new alternator and fitted,Thank's steve.

I had my alternator go a few weeks back, mine is the 120Cdti though, it was £135 for the alternator and i found a garage round the corner from work who fitted for £50, ****** expensive at the time but cheaper than what i've heard a Genuine Vx one would cost, good luck mate

My wife's 1.9cdti Signum (57 plate) alternator packed up today as well. Seen one thread on here with dealer price at £327. We have Warranty Direct so hoping to claw back a good chunk. Car is at dealers now.

Mine gave out last friday, I got my replacement Bosch 105 ah from local motor factors for £141 on exchange, good price i thought and took 45 mins to swap out, very easy job.

I got a reconditioned one from eBay with a years warrantee for £70 works perfect

Main Dealer is stupid price! Mine went last Monday, was recovered back by the AA.
New alternator and fitting £932.00! But with discount on parts and labour, plus the AA warranty contributing £400 to it, it came to £310.00 for me to pay....
Still alot, but they had it done within the day.
A local garage (none main dealer) will charge about £150 to fit and new or reconditioned ones off Ebay etc are around £100.
I couldn't wait, but if you can it will be the far cheaper way to go!

Not sure how you get to £932.

Should be max £240 + Vat for alternator
And 1.5 hours at £80 per hour plus VAT for labour.
