    Default What the hell???

My wife went out to our car this morning to find a huge puddle of water in the passenger footwell!!

Has this happened to anyone else? What has caused it to happen?

I have a similar issue where the spare wheel is, it fills with water if it rains hard. There are some rubber caps around the wheel which I have punched holes into to drain it out.

    Help please!!!

water in the back,.. I understand the roof ariel rubber gasket perishes and then allows water to ingress and makes its way down to the boot well. Front passenger footwell as above,.. scuttle tray probably needs cleaning. Look in the how to section.

Personally I'd now remove the blower resistor in case it's wet. Then refit. Might save you £30

Remove the rubber bung in the scuttle panel so it cant happen again. And as chewy said the aerial rubber will be perished letting in the boot.

Check every weather trims, boot open, check its all in properly. Move rubber up and down to see still connected to clips.
Check rear lights isnt leaking as it have weather trims on it too, check windows trims are ok.

As for footwell, it'll be the scuttle area, there is 2 drain holes. One directly by the pollen filter. Via engine bay. If clear then check any issues with door weathering trim. Also check window is actually closed!

Sponge it all out, then put newspapers down get summat not too heavy to compress it for a day should be ok afterwards. Let us know how u get on and what u find. Sometimes it helps others on ur results! :-) photo helps :-)

Thanks guys, it does seem that it was blocked. I have cleared it out, so hopefully won't happen again as I will now know to check it.

As you can imagine it wasn't nice discovering that. Just have to let it dry out more.
