    Default Worth the hassle ?

Yesterday at the Vets I came out to this:

    IMG-20121102-00129.jpg

No note, no nothing. Nipped in to the adjacent Police Station, and they have now got a suspect. I'm waiting on a call.

But - having polished it up it doesn't look too bad - although it's down to the plastic on the lip below the light.

Is it really worth persuing ? Would you ? Is there a risk this will affect my insurance if I do claim against them ?

Once the initial feelings die down, especially on a normal, non detailed car, should I bother.

I hear what you are saying........

To me it would depend on what the "suspect" says. If it could be sorted out amicably without involving insurance, then that would obviously be the easiest option. If not, then I think personally put it into to "s**t happens" category, and either just live with it or get it painted myself. I'd reckon somewhere in the region of £150 - £200 from a decent coachworks to do the bumper properly.

Given the fact they have tried to pull a fast one i'd definitely pursue it, Give them what they deserve and get your car back to the way it should be

All fair and well until it potentialy ends up as being unable to be proven. If your insurance company are involved, then whether or not you make a claim to actually have a repair done, it's still going down as black mark against you I'd say. I totally agree the culprit shouldn't get away with it, but if it's liable to end up screwing up your insurance, then it simply isn't worth it in my opinion.

If they have a suspect then do they have it on CCTV. If so then I would push it. How many others have they damaged and possibly worse and got away with it.

No CCTV. The Police got a list of visitors to the vets in the precceding hour and cross checked for a white car. Shame the CCTV in their yard didn't cover me - that's their fence behind my car ! They are going to visit the suspect later, and if they have my paint on their car..............

Ah well - the suspect wasn't the guilty party............. looks like I'm going to have to live with it or pay for a fix myself.

Not a happy bunny after all
