pass but my dealer normally sorts a motor out if needed at no extra cost
whats up with your car????
Head gasket I think.
Should get one m8, it's in warranty and a warranty fault so they really can't refuse.
Yep, I'd demand one in your circumstances VV.
Yeah look in the back of your handbook, it says you have like for like.
Like for like *lol* Astra VXR in, loan car, citreon C2, I told them where to ram it and got a taxi !!
Size wise mate only. Not engine ya see...
There's no legal requirement for a dealership to provide a loan car.
However, they should pull out all the stops to provide one if your car has suffered a serious failure.
If the failure is serious enough to constitute a breach of contract (satisfactory quality, fit for purpose etc.) you may be able to claim back reasonable out of pocket expenses. This would include transport (car hire)costs if a loan car was not forthcoming.
Obviously, this is in proportion to the length of time you have owned the car and could also be affected by your use / maintenance of the vehicle in the meantime.
Many vehicle warranties do promise a replacement vehicle and you should certainly hold out for one if this is specified in your warranty manual. Such policies often allow a dealership to hire a car for you if no loan cars are available.
They didn't have one available, also got turned down for a lift home as well, but I can't moan, they did take the car in right away, if it's not repaired withing a week then I may have to take advice if they cannot supply me a replacement.
