    Default Front subframe mounting bolt

I've just changed the DMF and clutch, when I came to bolt the subframe back up the ns rear mounting bolt went really stiff as I was screwing in, I've took it out and the thread is damaged, seems the thread in the nut in the body has caused it, can this be replaced??? Any other suggestions?? Help!!!

Get a tap and re-tap the thread in the captive nut.

    Cross threaded on way in.

As above will need a tap to sort.

and new bolts can be had from dealer for couple quid

Best way to find out is use a thread gauge. Re-tap the captive nut and either get a new bolt or make sure the thread is good on the existing bolt. Sometimes you can tidy the thread up on a bolt using a good quality nut.
