if your having to ask what tools are needed to take an engine apart i dont think youll be capable of doing it

That would definitely cut a few hours off a DMF change.

I need to get to the pistons to change the rings

12" steel ruler
Sharp pencil, HB or equivalent
Tenon saw
Protractor
Claw hammer
Rigger gloves
Soldering iron
Phillips screwdriver.

That's all I can think of for now.

youll need a box of sparks for the grinder too, the flux capacitor circlip needs cut off as well
