Tailgate not shutting properly

I have a prefacelift hatchback.

This seems to have gotten gradually worse, but basically everytime I shut my boot it never shuts properly, always have to lift it back up and give it a proper slam (sometimes several times before it shuts properly, it's not right and I'm starting to get concerned my spoiler or window is going to break when I shut it.

Has anyone else had this problem? What could be the cause and how do I fix it?

Try adjusting the catch, the one on the inside of the rear boot panel, maybe its just slipped.

Two round rubber buffers one each side of tailgate can be wound in and out,I had the same problem one was too far out wound it in a little bit at a time until boot closed properly,now shuts first time every time,worth a try fella
