Default rubber pipe at the bottom of the air box

What is this little rubber pipe for?

i know some people says its to let water out if it enters the air box but theres an inch of space below it so it would just sit in there.

    Anybody got any ideas?

Its to drain water from the box away.i know what u mean, a pain to connect it back on but i found that it connects to the pipe under the intake pipe you'll see faintly a hole where the bottom connects to. I reattached it when i was doing the turbo.

It sits slightly higher so to trap and heavy crap and just let the water out.
