headlight adjusting any tips
i have a 07 v6 cdti, i kno every1's complaining about headights not havin much 'reach' out front, but is there a way to adjust the level of the high/dipped beam if there isnt a level adjustment switch inside by the light switch.
i bought the car with HIDs already fitted as the dipped beam, but is there like some bolt or screw that i can turn to raise them?
sounds like your car has factory fitted xenons if there is no range adjustment on the switch , you would probably be better off calling at a local MOT garage & asking them to check/adjust your lights , most will do this for a small fee & at least then you will know they are correct & unlikely to dazzle others .
Yes there is an adjustment allen bolt. If you lift the bonnet and look on the top of your headlight near the slam pannel. Will be 2 allen bolts, 1 for sideways, 1 for up/down.
Dont ask which is which cant remember, but think the inner 1 is for up/ down.
Do a search on here for Duncan Mod. That will put you right!
If you have factory xenons and they are poor then something is wrong. Is the fault light on? I would get the allignment checked any mot station will be able to adjust for you.
no theres no fault light or nothin on, but i will try those allen bolts, cheerz Graham
If they have never been adjusted they will be aimed low... It's only an mot fail if too high IIRC, I adjusted mine and went a lot higher then it was and it still passes mot so worth adjusting... There's a how 2 somewhere with which does which but I think the outer 1 does the height...

He can't try that, like he said in original post he has no adjustment on switch.
I assume his are self levelling so needs to check that the self levelling mechanism is working properly.
