    Default Dispatches: Afghanistan

Very interesting programme on CH 4 last night about the UK in Afghanistan. Bare bones account of the courage of UK (and Afghan) forces. Graphic demonstration of how are gutless Government are selling the armed forces down the river, with lack of support and equipment.

The unit had a group of Estonians attached. While our chaps were driving around in unarmoured Land Rovers, the Estonians were in armoured vehicles that the MOD sold to them for a knock down price. (MOD paid £4.5 million and sold them for £44,000)

That's why the British Army boys are among the best troops in the world....they have to deal with the mission in hand plus deal with an inept bunch of politicians who send them into every situation with 2nd rate equipment and not enough manpower to do it.

You either adapt and succeed or you don't and get killed.... no wonder they are struggling to retain Soldiers

I didn't get to see it. But I'm deploying to Lashkar Gah sometime early march We have a sqn of Recce vehicles out there at the moment. Unfortunately this winter is a warm one so the fighting has continued, This is expected to get more severe in the spring
