Default Part load misfire 1.9CDTi 150

Apologies for starting a new thread but have spent ages searching through all the associated ones. My symptoms seem slightly different.

It idles smoothly and accelerates smoothly but on low load cruising it continuously stutters/misfires.

This is now becoming a pain as I do a motorway commute. Fuel consumption is unaffected.

I have done the EGR cleaning operation .

    The car is a 2005 pre-facelift Vectra SRI 1.9CDTi 150 on 200kmiles. No mods

Any help to solve greatly appreciated.

That is usually down to either the EGR or 3rd injector.

Being a 2005 your injector plugs are going to be yellow (unless already modded), you could try removing number 3, spray some cleaner in there, and plug/unplug a few times and see if this helps - if it does, then you will need the updated (blue) plug from VX, about £14, which will need soldering on.

If not this, the EGR could not be sealing/operating correctly, a temporary full blank will eliminate this as a cause.

means the car has done 200k has the egr ever been replaced

because cleaning it does not mean its 100% working some do need replacing .

EGR valve on the Solenoid side gets stuck and need cleaning out

    have a read

i have just had the same problem but mine was very jurky and bringing the spanner light on also. Mine is a 2006 150 so has the blue plugs already and have done all the cleaning etc
Turns out it was the pin on the injector.. i bent the left hand pin down slightly in the injector and sprayed some wd40 and so far so good... very smooth.. not to metion had the dmf and clutch replaced at the same time... completly different car!

I’ve the same reoccurring problems with the same fault, lack of power, shuddering and engine light on sometimes.

I’ve had the egr bench tested and cleaned, the 8 flaps removed from my exhaust manifold permanently and still not fixed.

My mechanic played about with my injectors and in cleaning up and spraying No.3 with WD40 it fixed the problem for a week or so. However, I can keep pulling over to do this on long journeys.

So I have finally tracked down the repair kit for the injector wiring loom!

Vauxhall offer a repair kit for the injector, each new repair kit (the plug and some wiring) cost £15.00 Inc vat. My local Vauxhall garage had no idea what I was talking about, so I called Perry’s at Preston and Burnley (Lancashire) and they practically finished my sentence for me. They sell a few a week by all account! They can supply them for you and/or fit.

So there you go, they do exist and are obtainable.

Call them, they are very knowledgably
