    Smile Motor Factors

Is it just me or do the local factors no longer seem to be competitive? I always try to give my local factor the business, however I am finding that more often I am having to go elsewhere for my items. Even halfords seem to do certain items cheaper.

I am in the process of putting my Rover SD1 VDP EFi back on the road after major body renovations (sills, n/s front wing, n/s rear wheel arch and many other repairs to inner and outer wheel arches, boot floor, floorpan, inner wings - you get the picture).

I paid £22 for 5L of Morris 20w/50 oil - in the past you could pick a gallon up for around £5.

I was quoted £28 for a dizzy cap, got one from rimmer brothers £22 delivered. And it was an OE part.

I have not been to the vauxhall dealers yet for any items for my vectra, but when I had my Cav SRi in the early 90's I remember that oil, filters and plugs were very reasonable from them. I may have to take a look.

you will get the shock of your life when you go to vauxhall at retail prices, £50 for 5l of oil - honestly.

but its very rare i use a local motor factor, everything comes off the net for me now, but i have spent a smallish some in my vauxhall garage lately with my trade card.
