been looking through the 2012 vx trade club book and can not find the 2.2 timing kit anywhere in this book, theres not one listed for the other models that use this chain either! nor is the kit for the 2.0t listed.

The Chain kit is not part of the Trade club parts list mate as a chain is not counted as a service item. Hope THIS link helps mate.

These kits are all gen kits and include the NET tensioner. Beware of any Gen kits that are cheaper as they are more than likely to be old kits carrying the old type tensioner.

Be ready for a shock when you here the price.Your find it's cheaper to buy the complete cam chain kit comes with guides etc and worth changing the balance shaft chain kit.Change crankshaft seal while the cover is off. Will need new timing chain cover plus rocker cover and run new tensions with a oil and filter change.I think about 400 pound approx from VX.

When i said timing chain cover and rocker cover i mean the gaskets.I think the rocker gasket was about 24 pound timing cover gasket a little cheaper and the crankshaft seal about 14 pound from VX.

That's because belts have a specified replacement interval, just like air filters and engine oil does. Chains are supposed to last the life of the car, like they usually do on the Z20NET for example. Items don't get added to TC just because they've turned out to be a bad design and don't last as long as Vauxhall claim they do.

Problem with the chains are the hydraulic tenisoners.I had my cam chain jump a tooth and had to have cam shafts removed to check for bent valves. If chain rattles get it checked.

    Change timing and balance chain.
Mine has jumped and I am replacing all 16 valves (most are bent), cylinder head re done and skimmed.
Will be changing gaskets, water pump, piston rings, both chains and spark plugs.
A little jump has meant more than £900 just on parts. Get the kit with the Z20NET Tensioner. Only 1 place I found sells this kit and even VX don't sell this tensioner and wont sell it to you unless you own a Z20NET.
Last a lifetime my rear end!!!
