    Default Foglight installation

Right... Foglights and wiring loom present.

Paper printout from the guy who sold me foglight loom. No.10 and no.35. Under fusebox in engine bay.

Hard work getting the pins to be installed... Finally got it in, checked other side to be assured its showing the right way to be clipped to the contacts on fusebox...

    Earthed near fusebox.

Refitted fusebox back on. I slowly screwed it on so it can be correctly attached.

    Plugged foglights on. Battery reconnected...

Started car. No issues... Put headlight on then back fog. Fine.

    Pressed front fog on. Nothing....

Texted seb and said might need fuses put in and possibly relay. Ermmmm... I'm not that intellect on things like that!! Lol

What do i need? I will check again under fusebox to be assured the pins are not pushed out when plugged on.

You will need to get someone with tech2 or opcom to try to activate them. But chances are your fuse box(UEC) is not front foglight compatible. I finally cracked this 2 weeks ago, I needed to change the UEC for one from a car that had front fog lights already. There are no extra fuses, or extra relays to add. The thought is that there is a module inside the underside of the UEC that that controls the front foglights. I tried 3 UEC's before finding a compatible one. Once fitted I did not need to have it activated as the UEC's front foglight setting was already set to present.

Well as long as that fusebox pretty much matches your cars spec, ie; diesel full can/diesel half can or petrol full can/petrol half can etc.

I got into the computer. Got foglight enabled to present. Think need fusebox tested with other one just in case mine dont have foglight adapted in the layout :-(

Well all I can say is when I found one from a half can petrol that already had front foglights, once fitted it worked straight away, no activation needed.

    Just one correction -
The pins in the UEC are
No 10 and No 37... Not No 35.

I haven't yet got to the bottom of this, as there is no Code index value to change.
but simply changing the variance config for most people does not work either.

I would look for an SRi or similar higher trim level model, that is fitted with front fogs as standard and is from the approximate same year as yours.
Then obtain the engine bay fuse box for your car

As DasArab says, your fogs should miraculously work - assuming you have had the display and the BCM programmed too.

Just got the fuse top box and installed to car. Weirdly, the car starts better and feels a bit better!!!

Will try foglights once i took the top grill off the old bumper as foglights are secured to new bumper. I know!!! I didnt plan it right lol.

But should work as its the sri model i think. As it had everything even existing foglight wiring present (all been cut off sadly lol) i looked at the block underneath the fuse box and have the pins there already.

Onto top grill removal... Am i allowed to drive about without top grill??

ok.... i have installed the top fusebox from the car that have the foglight wiring plugged into the base fusebox. i checked before using it.

i removed the top gille! bleeding hard to remove!!!! fitted to the new bumper. lined up the foglight wiring. finally plugged it. a little tight but made new route that works best.

Bumper fitted back on. foglight plugged in. i checked the screen. no more "Fog light check left/check right" message. so i know it is working. so i pressed the front foglight switch on while engine running and main beam on. rear fog comes on. front dont come on!!!

Any ideas?? on the computer the Front Fog light is "Present" before i fitted the fuse box and installed the wiring. do i have to go back onto the computer and get something else turned on??
