confused DTUK Eco Box with DPF (Estate)

    Morning Everyone.

I bought a used Eco box off ebay after thinking I needed a little bit more power.

It arrived yesterday set on E (on a 123456789ABCDEF) type box. In the instructions it recommended to put the box on 7 (How the box is originally shipped) with vehicles with a DPF.

I have an estate design 1.9CDTI which apparently has the DPF. I have never noticed the car do a "Regen" is this something I would notice?

I want to know if I can turn the setting up any higher or will I cause serious damage. I do not constantly drive fast just like the extra power on overtaking etc. I would like to remove and map out the DPF if it has one and possibly the EGR as it now has fiat gaskets. Swirl flaps are long since glued open. If anyone knows of anyone good in west yorkshire that can do the work at a reasonable price please let me know.

Also does anyone have the approximate figures for the eco box on "7" in fact all the possible outputs would be good to know.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tim

I had the same "layout", but I put it on maximum 8. The good thing you can do is remove the box from time to time (twice or 3 times a month). This way you can give the car a chance to do its' DPF regeneration.

Now, the best thing you can do is do a proper remap with DPF and EGR removal.

You can see the regenerations take place with the help of 2 small things:

    - looking at the instant consumption (which goes from 0.8-1 L./h to 3.1-3.5 L./h) That's when regen takes place (for ~15-20 minutes).
    - put a small Voltmeter in the car and when it goes bellow 13.5-13.6 V that means the car is doing its' DPF regeneration.

    Cheers!

    Thanks sent an email.

Trying not to get carried away, want a parrot kit and rear tints as well as mud flaps. Getting expensive with all the diesel I'm shoving in too.

Car does seen quicker even been on only 7. Would like to know some figures!

I am tempted to knock it up to 8 for a bit, to put me on til DPF is removed and I get car remapped properly. Mind you with the famous Vectra understeer I experienced today on a roundabout should I leave it.

Just knocked it up to 8 after washing it. Put it straight away in the garage hoping that when I go out in it I will forget that I've done it and notice a change in performance without the placebo effect.

I will take it off in a bit just in case the DPF needs a regen. To put me on until I get it removed and mapped out that is.
