    Default CALLING: CDTI 160 owners

    Morning guys

Its that time again, dad is looking at another Insignia.

This time its a CDTI SRI 160, with the 18" 5-spoke wheels.

Its an 11-reg, but slightly high on the miles at just shy of 30,000.

What are these like. Any common faults?

How will this compare to his current Vectra SRI CDTI 150?

Any comments and things to look for will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Bye bye Vec B

Hi I find them a bit heavier on fuel the gearbox is geared to tall for the car and I would would get it remapped straight away as for faults I only had one with the parking sensors fixed under warrenty

They puke water from the egr cooler around every 50-60k.

inlet manifolds either sieze up when they are young or the swirl flaps get sucked through when its about 90k

rear pads sieze in from now causeing disk ridges req new pads and disks.

Boost pipes split on the n/s.

if it has heated seated seats the pads are rubish and fail on the drivers seat.

    Still get flywheel failts

And done a few radiators too.

I'll get slated for this but work at vx this is the facts. I don't want one, vectra was built better.

Well its a good morning today, Dad has put a deposit down on the Insignia. 11-plate, SRI CDTI 160. Just noticed a few things and chips with it, so im after some parts as I want it to be showroom like when its done. Not picking it up for a couple of weeks and probably not going to be on the road until New Year as he wants to sell his Vectra first. Watch this space.

Thank you guys for all the replies, keep them rolling still!!

Also, first time I have seen an SRI with Electric Windows all round!!!
