Default someone please confirm my DMF is goosed

Can someone please confirm that my dmf is knackered and that the car is not going through regen.

If i start the car from cold it ticks over sweet, if i put abit of pressure on the clutch it grates like a ****. Clutch fully depressed its quiet again..
but today whilst on tick over with clutch fully out, the engine started to judder every now and then (like a misfire).. i started to drive but as soon as i moved the Spanner light came on and the car wouldnt rev or go past 30mph.. the spanner light kept going out and coming back on but as it did this the car was juddering and kangooring. Does not seem to rev freely. If when the spanner light is on and the car is stationary the engine seems to be very lumpy

i have it booked it for dmf but would like it conforming?
    as always help aprreciated

As it grates when you put pressure on the clutch, certain the DMF is going the journey.

As for the spanner light and lack of revving, really need to get the codes read for a correct diagnosis. A good start is to check the vac pipes

It definatly grates when clutch pressure is been put in the clutch.

I have had the codes read and it shows there are no codes present.
I spoke to my mechanic and he said the eml is coming on due to the flywheel and timing been out of sinc hence putting the car into limp home?

i have in the last week done the following:
    all vac pipes renewed
    egr cleaned
    boost sensor cleaned
    throttle body cleaned
    redex through system
    new leak off pipe
    full service

I know its not the same vehicle, but my stepdads hyundai van has just had the dmf done and his systoms was the same as yours (the grinding noise) and vibraction through the pedal.

After reding the forum last night in depth, i do believe my dmf is knackered so that will get done, but im not convinced my eml light on with the car struggling to rev (no power) is related... can anybody who has had a dmf done (which completly failed) had these symptoms and i wasnt looking into something like a fuel pump etc.

just to add, when the car is struggling with the eml light there is no smoke what so ever

No eml light was on mine when my dmf went last year. I would check air flow meter or as stated vac pipes. Sometimes the grating could cause metal shaving to get lost, it happened witha mate of mine he changed the egr valve and air flow meter and all was fine and this was a result of the dmf.

cheers mate but today started the car for the first time since i thought the dmf had finally gone. It sounded like an absolute bag of nails and was banging when stationary etc... i checked all possible reasons why eml light on.. i have blue injector wiring, swirl flaps all attached, egr cleaned and unplugged which makes no difference, air flow tested with multi meter (auto electrician did this)... basically everything points to the eml is on due to the dmf failure... still not happy with it i rang a guy i knew had previously worked for vauxhall.. he clarified it was dmf failure for sure and the eml (spanner light) was on due to it throwing the transmission electrics out.
dmg booked in for tuesdat... £550 all in so not that bad
