Default Head unit in the cubby?

Anyone manage to slot one in, can you get smaller radio/USB/iPod only ones that are maybe a tad thinner then standard cd ones?

If it half din then it will fit. I have fitted a crossover in there as my headunit only has 1 pre-out, see post 61 http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?120577-My-ice-thread/page2&highlight=.

I wouldn't mind keeping the factory unit then fit other speakers elsewhere, don't even have a spare to test

Thats an awesome project, surprised I've not seen this thread sooner... I fancy doing something similar with mine, never been into systems and metal usually sounds pap on them anyway, but its only thing really left to do as I keep getting bored lol...

    keep up the good work

Here you go although i don't see the point in having your headunit so low down and what do you use your original stereo space for, but it works for my multi disc playerpioneer 002.jpgpioneer 001.jpgpioneer 004.jpgpioneer 003.jpg

I was hoping to see a nice flush fitted single din unit . Have you cut half of you fag lighter surround away? i also like the cluttered look too.

If you wanted a flush unit then there are plenty around that would fit the bill plus I've got the end pieces off the cubby tray that would make it look a lot neater but I've not finished, I want to add a DAB unit which will mean a lot of dismantling and I've also got a pair of rear headrest screens and a pair of amps to fit when I get my arse into gear. As for it looking a bit cluttered, I have two remotes so I don't have to touch the system it just sits there looking pretty. As I said earlier I don't get the point of having your head unit so far down it would be a ****** to operate. And yes I did cut the ciggy lighter but I intend to remove and replace it with an accessory socket
