Default What am I doing wrong???

Changed the calipers on the Ms car, replaced with my old 314's, and now I cant seem to get any pressure in the system?

I have bleed the front brakes 4 or 5 times now...

I clamped the brake pipes before I removed the old calipers and then fitted new disc and pads etc... then went to bleed them. I used one of the none return Ezibleed bottle kits (spelling?) and it seemed to go alright.

I undid the bleed screw, pumped the brakes a fair few times held it at the bottom, did the screw up and seemed fine with the engine off.

BUT with the engine running I have almost no pressure! If I pump the brakes it builds and firms up but after a few minutes of the engine running its gone again. I've also tried the above with the engine running... no joy.

I've only bleed the front brakes, but cant imagine air having returned back into the system? I'm at my wits end!

I had a rather traumatic day replacing the starter motor and this is the last thing I needed to day! LOL

    Any ideas???

    Full bleed?

Have I messed up the Master Cylinder somehow?

Stupid question but you did fit the calipers with the nipples at the top?

    Default

full bleed and unless you typed wrong you need to undo the bleed nipple with the kit connected, then pump it, then close the bleed nipple, then remove the bleed kit

Can you put the calipers on the wrong way round? If that makes sense... Or is that impossible? LOL

    EDIT -

    DasArab...

I think my bleed nipples are below the main brake line connection... does that mean I've put left/right the wrong way round????

Was it an easy bleed kit which you use the spare tyre with...?

Yes - the only difference will be the bleed nipple being on the bottom instead of the top..

Yes apparently you can, not 100% sure if you can with the 314's, but I have seen a post on here where someone fitted the calipers upside down and he had the same issue as you.

I think this is your problem. Nipple should be at the top to allow any air to leave the caliper with the fluid as you bleed them.

As said you have fitted them on the wrong side.

You need the nipples at the top so the air rises and can be released.
