Default Just a little rant and rave about ford!

Since selling the vectra and buying a vxr corsa I've been on the look out for a cheap reliable car to get to work and back

Finally found a 2002 mondeo 2.0 tddi(proper diesel not like the unreliable tdci, or so I thought!) In a garage in Peterlee for a grand, bargain I thought.....

2 days into ownership and the alternator packed in

5 days into ownership the exhaust split just before the flexi pipe

And finally this morning she came to a spluttering halt in a cloud of white smoke....arghhhhh!

Totally ****ed off with it so just left it at the side of the road till I finished work then had a play about and it looks like the fuel pumps had it....great!

Going to give the garage a phone call tomorrow but not sure were I stand legally?

So todays top tip.....don't ever buy a ford! There all lemons

    Rant over :-)

Tddi's were also in the mk2 and pos mk1 Mondys? The TDCI came out later. Bit like the DTI and then CDTI.

As you bought it from a garage, they have to give a minimum of 3 months warranty by law nowadays.

They supposedly didn't suffer from the Injector issues the TDCI's did (and maybe the DMF too)

Yea they supposedly alot better and capable of mega millage, if u can keep them running really. Not prepared to spend money fault finding and seen asthough I've only had it a week its now in the garages hands

    Interesting.

The old boy across the road from me bought a 56 plate Fusion from the local ford dealer. A few weeks after he bought it I gave it a good going over valet wise. When i was finished I was checking everything over and noticed the a/c wasn't working so i told him. He gave the garage a phone, funny enough they said they only gave one months warranty and it ran out 3 days earlier. Now I thought it was a 3 month warranty by law too.

Meh. I had a mondeo for 80000 miles and I never had to do anything beyond routine servicing.

We've currently got a 54 plate focus that we've had since 2006 and never had to do anything beyond routine servicing.
