Default 1.8 Air Temperature Mixer Servo

    Hey all,

I have been having issues with the temprature i my Vectra no longer being HOT. The car gets to empreature ok and stay prity constant around this so I am confident its not the Engine Termostat. I have the car booked in for a water pump change etc also.

The problem I have is the interior tempreature is no longer HOT. At best it is Warm but not as Hot as it used to be (this timelast year or even as recently at 4 weeks ago.

I was having a read through the site and see reference to air temperature mixer servo prehaps being an issue which can cause this.

I am however strugeling to find details of this on the search section which will help me confirm this is the probelm...

Can someone / multiple people confirm the following for me.?

Does the 1.8 with standard heating and aircon have this part (assuming its common accross all vectras)?

Does the fault I am having sound like this could be the issue?

Does anyone have any pics of this part and where it is fitted and even better, a how to guid for fixing it?

    Thanks all
    C

Can you hear the air mix motor moving (behind glovebox) when you adjust the temp?

Quiet hum from behind glove box for about 2 seconds after adjusting air temp

Quick update... with the water pump and timing belt now done the car is certaily being warmer but still not as hot as it used to be. The thermostat still seems to float between 80 and 85. My wifes identicasl 1.8 vectra sits at 90 permanently only climbing if the car sits for a while and drops back to 90 as the fan comes on etc.

Think I may just buy a replacement thermostat as it's not that expencive and could resolve any issues im having.
