not sure but a dodgy ICV would
I take it thats the Idile control, where abouts is it and is it easily to take off?.
Do you not have a ICV on a diesel
Kinda depends what you mean by 'bounce'?
If you're talking physical rocking/vibration then that would suggest a physical imbalance which in my limited knowledge of the DMF design, would be unlikely due to the gubbins all being encased. Also the movement would be affected by changing engine speed. I'd be more inclined to think in terms of a failed engine mount/bush.
If however, you mean it's not a steady idle ie it's 'hunting', then from what I've read on various other threads I'd be checking for a leaking vacuum hose or similar to start with before moving on to blocked fuel filter, dying fuel pump and things in that direction.
I had a definate engine imbalance on my 150 CDTI months ago. Incidentily, it only manifested after I changed the EGR valve. There was no air leaks or anything obvious. So I disconnected the battery for an hour to reset all the electronics back to default settings and the car was and still is smooth as baby's bum again. This is at least 6k miles ago. Worth a try and its easy.
might try the battery as it had a new egr value fitted before i bought it along with a DMF. Or so the paper work suggests.
Thanks for all the help
also had a new enging mount fitted yesterday as we thoght it was that was casuing the car to bounce.
The revs don't drop but you can feel the car.. Also when you are moving slowly or setting of under 1500 revs the car feels like its juddering.
