Default thermostat for z19dth , a wee question

can you buy the thermostat without the housing and just replace the internals or is it easier and cheaper just to replace the whole unit ?

    many thanks

I recommend whole housing as well as mine was dark and horrible looking. If u just replace the stat itself. Chances are higher for stat to fail sooner than new housing. Apparently dirt stops at the housing! As inside from engine looks cleaner than the housing itself.

A quick look on ebay shows it appears that its a whole unit you have to buy. Check the Livi Auto Parts website, just put your reg in it, see what comes up.

Also make sure its the revised layout as Vauxhall changed the way it flows so it helps warm the car up quicker.
