    Default what tyres for 3.2?

i've currently got 215 50 17s on all around which i think is really narrow for the 200+bhp and my front treads need replacing so i was going to get 225 45 17s. but looking at my calculator, that will give me a -12.5 mm diameter on the tyre and a -1.16mph figure at 60 (58,84 mph at 60)

    but

    if i stuck 225 50 17s on i would only have a +10mm diameter and a +0.93mph difference at 60 (60.93)
in other words 225 50 17s will be a closer match to rolling diameter plus when you take into account most speedos are set around -3mph out at 60mph (57mph at 60 mph on the clock) then the speedo would be closer to accurate!

has anyone stuck 225 50 17 on here? and will i be ok running wider profile on the front till the backs need replacing?

225/45/17 is a standard Vectra size, 225/50/17 isn't, so it's clear which is the most appropriate one. As for 215/50/17 being too narrow, is that too narrow to look at, because it isn't too narrow for the power. Mine has that size, front and back, and has 20 extra BHP and probably quite a bit more lb ft as well than a GSi, and can grip just fine. I suggest switching to a better brand of tyre and looking for worn suspension components if you're experiencing a lack of grip.
