Evening all. Finally got round to finishing the Led conversion on my Vec. Have to say well pleased with it.

A wee bit unsure of the red just now, but have blue and white on standby incase i get curious.

Spare GID in the drawer waiting for conversion also. Gonna try and get 2 of everything so i can hot swap them. Was pleasantly surprised how quick the dash clocks came out. Just as well. wanna see the fitting guide crazy leds sent me. Thank god i read the how to on here first.

Yeah. Say it will grow on me. Just wondering should i have changed the inner 2 plcc2/4 to white. May whip them out again tomorrow and have a look. Cant recall if they were plcc2 or 4's though.

All credit to you for doing it yourself and each to their own for colour choice but I personally think it looks odd when people use 3 different colours in the conversion, 1 yes, 2 maybe but 3??! Again, the OP's choice, I just think it looks odd and incomplete.

Agree with you Kev_A. As mentioned in the original post i have another GID to do in red, but need time to sit down and do it. Once that's done, i think it will look more complete. Keeping the white one so i can hot swap everything eventually. Only issue i'm gonna have is the dash clocks. But will work it out some way.

Would suggest start small. Do your passenger door switch first, then perhaps drivers door, then heater panel. I was bricking it doing the dash clocks, but was actually quite straight forward. Just take your time. All you need is a decent enough soldering iron with fine enough tip, solder, solder sucker, de-soldering braid(not needed but i used) and decent pair of tweezers.

Or pick up a few spares from scrappy and try it first.

That looks sweet. I actually like the different colours for the different functions on the door switches.

The GID done in white looks cleaner imo, however do like the GID in red. Had a red one in it previously, but it was full can one, so no good to me. Sold it to a fellow member.
