    Default gadgetman parking sensors silver lightning

    hi all. just to about to order a set of these, ive sent a message to the guy to see whay colour would best match my silver lightning vec, he says dark silver. just wondering if anyone on here has fitted these to a silver lightning and if so what colour they picked, or am i best to get unpainted and spray them myself, cheers

    spray them yourself, its very easy, did mine a couple of weeks ago now, I used white primer and some GM star silver with clear coat and colour match is spot on!

    yeah this may be best to get match spot on i guess, so its one coat primer a coat of colour and a coat of clear coat ??

    I lightly rubbed the sensors down with some 800 wet & dry (wet) then wiped over with some panel wipe (meths also works well for this) then a couple of light coats of the white primer, leave to dry for an hour, lightly rubbed the primer with 1200 (again wet) to smooth it off, wipe again, then 2 or 3 light coats of the silver to build it up and get even coverage, allow 10 minutes between coats. Then after an hour or so a couple of light coats of the clear. Leave to dry for at least 24hrs before fitting otherwise the paint will still be soft and mark easily whilst fitting them, I actually left mine a week although a couple of days should suffice this time of year imo.

    cheers buddy. did you use this exact kit? if so what do you think of it, easy enough to fit and wire up etc?

    I used a set off ebay, actually I've used the same set twice now with good results, put a link up of what you mention in your post...

    It does look to be almost identical to the kits I've used recently, you should be fine with them!

    I have just fitted a kit off ebay, 13 quid and the silver sensors look spot on colour match. Will post a pic tomorrrow if helps
