Default Relays for front driving lights

Info required for another member on here. He's got a relay and is wanting the side lights to come on with a key button press.

He's taken a trigger from the Cig light illumination (12v) but just the positive. and the ground coming from the battery but the relay isn't switching. Does the negative need to come from the trigger negative (cig lighter socket -ve)?

If its a standard 4 pin you need the cig light and earth on the 85 & 86. + from battery on the 30 and the 87 out to the LEDs... Once pin 85/86 fire/magnetise the power will come from pin 30 to light up the LEDs.

I still can't get my head round a direct dash feed isn't working tho? I had no issues and even dims with the dash dimmer switch...

    Nice one

Yeah that's what I used for mine, wonder if the cig led runs off/to the dash differently? Strange...
