Try changing the fluid
its probably behind wheel arch liner on front drivers side
Sure MarkTaylors was like this, his was low on fluid. As critch says behind front drivers wheel arch liner or on some its behind the engine on top of the rack.
also make sure it has the correct fluid in it , should be central haydraulic fluid ( green ) unlike normal ATF .
do they not all have a low fluid warning ? I know mine does as it went low before & the warning came up on the dash .
dont tell me the wheel has to come off and the liner out just to top up the fluid on the pas on these cars?
Thanks all, trying to locate fluid bottle and not having much luck
I see you have the estate, same year as mine but a smaller engine. The power steering on mine is electric, may be it is the same on yours??
thats cos it must be hidden mate! looks like it could be wheel off and liner out no need whatsoever to hide it there if this is indeed the case.
I managed to do mine with the wheel on , turned it to full left lock & took the screws out of the liner , eased the liner back so I could get my hand in at the bottle cap .
cap off , open bonnet & use a funnel with a long flexible spout down behind the headlight & through the gap in the inner wing , into the bottle .
top up very very slowly as there is a filter in the top of the bottle that takes forever to let the fluid through.
then put it back together .
cheers for that, we all no exactly why vauxhall chose to put it there
