    Default Oil in hose pipe.

    Alright,
Just changed the top turbo/intercooler pipe because it was starting to split, how ever when changing it I noticed a little bit of soot/oil on the inside.
Im guessing its something to do with the oil vapour but isit worth squirting a bit on 10k boost or similar through, (kinda hoping this would stop the little hiccup on idle that happens now and again).
Anyone done this on their 3.0?

If its wise I presume I'd squirt it where the arrow is?

This is normal, every turbo "leaks" a litte oil trough, but when the oil mixes up with the soot from the EGR it makes a big mess!
My inlet manifold had a really thick layer of soot all around in there, but i have the y30dt, i dont know if it is any better on the z30dt with the new manifold...

On mine Z30DT its exactly the same with soot in the inlet. I cleaned it, when I changed my SCV's.

I personally don't think a small coating will make any difference
I would be more concerned if you remove the pipe and it was flowing out and clearly showing that vast amounts of oil were passing through or collecting

I remember replacing a breather pipe in my previous X20XEV with 80K miles on it
I checked it again 10K miles later it was in the same condition

Sounds ok then. Think I worry to much (probably after reading some stories on here). Still may try the cleaner just to see ifit helps clean the throttle valve without removing everything unless strongly advised not to.

Just a off topic question, when I take it for a small drive and then open the oil filler cap theres like some fumes/smoke coming out (alot more when the engine runs). Is it quite normal for this, cant say ive bothered to check this before.
