Exclamation Has my car been clocked?

Hi, I'm worried about the mileage on my Vectra 1.9 CDTI diesel 150 (2008).

Did a VOSA MOT check and the 2011 MOT mileage states it was at 148K but the clock is currently only showing 75K!

    Full VOSA MOT history:
    15/02/11 - 148,023 !! (MOT paper cert says 59,023)
    01/03/12 - 71,453 (MOT paper cert says 71,453)

    Service History booklet:
    12/11/09 - 18,562
    05/08/10 - 36,829
    16/05/11 - 62,159

I've been trying to sell it and had 4 people (2 car dealers, 2 tax drivers) say its condition is not how it should be for a 75K 2008 vectra.

I've been in a 1.9 diesel CDTI 120 Vectra that has done over 200,000 miles and the interior conditon was only marginally worse than mine and yet it was used all day every day as a taxi. The 120 vectra sounded much, much quieter than mine and seemed smoother to drive too.

Mechanically I know my car needs a new manifold, the swirl bar has come off. Interior is a bit of a mess too, air vent flaps broken/missing, gear stick worn to hell, carpet worn, laquer worn off and scratched to hell on the internal door handles and handbrake.

I've heard VOSA can get the mileage wrong but this all has led me to think there's something dodgy about my car's mileage...

I've attached pictures of the wear and tear of my car.

Please, anyone with similar wear and tear, can you get back to me and let know what mileage yours has done! Or if yours has done 75K and is nothing like as bad as mine, please let me know too! I need to prove to Trading Standards that my car is in worse condition than it should be and I should be getting a refund from the dealer I bought it from!

    Thanks all!

First question is why did you buy it in that sort of state ? I'd almost defiantly say its been clocked as the mot station has logged the mileage at every test . Might be. Long shot but can you not contact the previous owner an ask what mileage was on when they sold/traded it

just noticed as well the two holes under the alarm switch they could be from eithe a phone kit but more likely a mic holder for the taxi radio

That shouts Taxi all day long. Get someone local to you to read the ECU with opcom or tech2. Did you buy it private?

just noticed its a 4 year old car! something not right by looks of it, looks like drilled holes near where the tc button would be, have u checked to see if you can find any loose wires that shouldnt be there (left over from when taxi equipment was removed?)

At 75K it shouldn't look like that inside, surely..? Also, there seems to be a fair few gaps around the headunit

yea found loose wire coming from behind bottom of centre console in drivers foot well.

I've had 4 people say it looks like it's been used as a taxi before. So that could account for high mileage, but how about the manifold being full of soot, wouldn't that be due to short journeys rather than long ones?
