front parking sensors

Aftermarket Front Parking Sensors now installed, I've fitted them a switch which is in the cup holder between the 2 front seats and when switched on it beeps. But, when I roll the car forward it's not beeping the distance to the object?? I've placed the sensors from A-D from Off side to Near side and into the correct A-D slots. Is there anything I've missed out? Activation is by pressing the brake pedal and this as I say gives a beep BUT no distance beep. Any info appreciated.

ps fronts are the same as the rear and they're beeping OK.

on the rear when selecting reverse the sensors have power all the time until taken out of reverse, how have you wired the fronts up to have a constant power feed? Im guess when press the brake the sensors get power until you release the brake again??

through a switch wont make any difference if its wired off the brake light / pedal will it.

I've earthed them to the nut under the battery tray then ran a cable from the red cable and extended it then ran it through the firewall into the glovebox to the cupholders between the front seats then onto a 2 sway switch then ran a cable from the switch along the passenger side through to the rear into the boot then hooked into the brake light wire.

yeah so the sensors are only getting power when the brake pedal is pressed, sit in the car with brakes on and get some one to walk in front of sensors, they should work, lift your foot off the brake and they wont.

As you have a switch in there you might as well wire the power off an ignition live that way if you happen to lift your foot of the brake, say while parking, the sensors will still be active until you turn the switch off.

So I could hook it up to the ignition live under the gear stick ie black cable going to the ciggy lighter? would that be a 3 way switch then?

1 - power
2 - sensor unit
3 - brake light

To make it simple would be to forget the brake light, just have it on the switch, on and off when ever you need it then unless I'm missing another purpose for using the brake light?
