Rattle on engine

can anyone help me ? i have an 05 plate vectra cdti sri 150ps its just clocked over on to 73,000 miles (taxi driver)
In the last few days its been giving of a mettalic sounding rattle from the engine while the revs have been coming down from say 2000 to idle ????
i have heard off other taxi drivers there is a common (and expensive) fault with the flywheels ????
also does this model have a timing belt or chain

any help appreciated

Heres a starer for 10 about possible causes mate. If you do a search from the menu bar then thier are loads of information or possible causes.

I am sure someone will be along later with the actual cause...

I'll lay very good money on it being the dual - mass flywheel that has broken up..it's getting far more common unfortunatly...... and with the miles you've done you'll have to budget about 4-500 quid to get it replaced as the warranty expires at 60,000 miles..

And the 150 CDTi is belt driven, change due at 100,000 miles...
