I think originally VX had 100K as the interval but later reduced it?

I had mine done at 83k with a waterpump as well but they both still looked in decent condition.

That's right. On 1.9CDTI, timing belt drives waterpump and waterpump failure can fling it off in as little as 40k miles, wrecking the engine. By December 2008 this was becoming increasingly common at about 4 years old and circa 50k - 60k miles. So engines need new belts, tensioners, pulleys and waterpumps before 4 years old or 50k miles

10 years or 100k is the service interval for the timing belt on the 1.9. But tbh I wouldn't leave it past 7 years or 80K. As above, it is not the belt that breaks but the water pump that seizes then shreds the belt so get that changed at the same time.

I'm thinking of buying vectra but it's done 55k and as far as I know hasn't had the belt changed or waterpump. Do you think I should factor this into the deal or if not how much would it cost??
