Dead Pixel in GID

Hey all,

I have a prefaclift LS which I upgraded from a TID to a GID. All that works great. I since had an SMD conversion on the car so the ilumination is all blue.

My display has been working great for 18 months but just in the last few days a small cluster of pixel's have blown (and are steadly getting worse).

I know swapping the full unit out is easy but it would mean losing my blue display until I can have it converted again.

So, I am wondering if swapping the screens is an easier option...

My thoughts are to get a new GID with the same code as mine (does this matter as long as it's a pre-faclift screen) and stripping it down to the board (Think it's just two ribons I need out of it). I will then fit my current board into the new consol so I dont even need to take the screen out etc and to deal with the relocating the screen issues I have red about in some posts.

My questions really are...

Is this the easist way to do it?

Is it just two ribbons (top and below) I need to detach

Does it need to be the same moduel code type or will any pre facelift screen work as im swaping the internal board?

u can only try,failing that jst use the smd's off your original a bit of a pain but saves u gettin more.
