creaking front end

my vectra has developed a strange noise from the front end, when i go over speed bumps it sounds as if the bumpers hitting the ground but it is clearly not

its as if a bush or something is away, i had it in the garage today and they cant find anything wrong with it

they said it could be because it has a new arm on one side and to try spraying it with some silicon to soften up the bush

its had a new arm on one side just before i bought it a few months ago, both drop links done and ive even changed the struts but still cant get rid of it

ill try the silicone but does anyone else have any ideas?

its a 54 plate cdti estate

Two most common causes of front end creaking are the ARB bushes (Anti Roll Bar) and the radiator mount bushes.

Agreed, ARB bushes are notoriously bad... Mine made such a racket when they were worn. Been silent since they were replaced. Check the how 2...

Oh, and double check which size you need. VX couldn't tell me and ordered the wrong ones first time. 2 sizes of Anti roll bar, best to measure it with a caliper and get the right ones or the problem will be even worse!

Ordered some new bushes from vauxhall they said there's only 1 listed for me car so hopefully they are the right size
