Front wishbone bush

Has anybody changed their front wishbone bushes & if so was it pretty straightforward. I'm going to be changing my front shocks & droplinks (I think they are the originals!) & since the rubber bush on the rear front wishbone looks perished I figured I may as well do that at the same time. I'm basically trying to replace anything I can to try & solve the ride issues I've got.

I replaced one on mine. The nut holding the round rubber tube broke. So take caution.

Easier to just change the wishbone itself, Means you don't need to get near a press. When fitting the new one, the rear bush should only be tightened to 30nm, Do all bolts up hand tight then once it's back on the ground torque them up to the right setting

What's the reason for torquing them up when its back on the ground. I didn't do that on mine, I torqued them up before lowering the car, should I redo them?

id personally says its false economy to replace just the bush. Putting a new bush on will transfer all the stress to the older bush and ball joint

It's to stop the bush twisting too much as it gets lowered. Whilst it's up on stands you can put a jack under the wishbone itself and raise it so as to take the pressure off then tighten them up. But ideally you want to do it with the full weight on it

as others have said bad idear to just replace that bush, as the bottom ball joint is going to be left un changed, im replacing both lower arms as full units. that way you get 3 new bushes including a new ball joint too.

I did the same, replace the whole unit, i just didnt torque it with it on the ground.
