    Default Removing my drivers door.....?

Hi guys, looking for a little advice. I have had to purchase a replacement drivers door from a scrappy, fortunately i managed to get it in the same colour, so saved a bit of money there.

My question is, how do i remove there old door?

Had a quick look on the how to's, but nothing for removing the actual door. I had a quick look the other day and i can see to hinges each with 2 bolts on each. And also the door stay nearer the bottom which i turned a few months ago as it was clunking.

Is this all that is required to remove the door, or is there more to it?

I will also need to swap the drivers door lock but i had a quick look on the how to's and that seems fairly straight forward

    Any help would be appreciated

    Dave

1 small torx grub screw on the face of each hinge, the small bar that goes from the A Piller to the door and the electrical multiplug. Remember you will need to swap over the door control module(behind the door card) from yours old door to the new one too.

Thanks for the quick reply mate, may seem like a silly question but why do i need to swap the conrol module? Is it linked to the key/alarm? I thought i just had to swap the lock/barrell?

So i don't need to take off the four bolts i seen on the hinges just the small grub on the hinges?

Where in west lothian are you?

Yea just the 2 small grub screws and it lifts off. The DCM is coded to your car, if the ident code is the same on both door you may not need to swap them over but its a pretty simple job to do anyway.
Im in Livingston too bud. Which scrappys you go to for it?

a guy down in leeds mate, seen it on ebay. Tried a few local ones but no joy in that colour, Is it like a plug and play idea mate? unplug and unscrew my DCM and swap it over to the new door?

So i take it unscrewing these grub screws separates the hinge, rather than it coming off too?

Do you have a pic of the DCM and where in the door it is?

Yup its an easy job to swap, 2 or 3 screws and the multiplug. They look like this, quite big.

Brilliant mate thanks for the picture, I'll have a closer look for the grub screws on the hinges. Hopefully it will be fairly straight forward.

Let you know how it goes
